Hi! My name is Josie Short and I’m a licensed hairstylist and certified lash extension artist. In addition to those credentials, I also have a Bachelors degree in journalism and a minor in literature… I actually keep a large collection of books in my salon to lend out to clients. I have been licensed in the beauty industry for over 15 years. As a senior in high school I took a receptionist position at a local salon and my passion/obsession for the beauty industry began. My licensed start in the beauty industry actually started in 2008 when I simultaneously attended beauty school (to be a nail technician), and college classes. Once receiving my licensed nail tech credentials, I continued college courses but also worked part-time doing nails. After graduating from college I made the decision to go back to beauty school to get my cosmetology license and I have been doing hair since 2013. In 2019 I received my lash extension certification and traded out doing nails for lashes. I have worked independently in my own space for the past four years, the first three at Salon Lofts - Greenwood, and now at Splendor Beauty Lounge. I love being able to bring my clients into a safe and comfortable space created by me. Let’s be honest… talented hair stylists are a dime a dozen. What sets me apart from other talented stylists is the relationship and bond I build with each and every client. Whether you’re in my chair processing that balayage or laying on my lash bed getting your lashes filled, you will be passing the time with someone who truly cares not only about your hair/lashes but also you as a person. You can always count on me for friendly conversation, book recommendations, laughter, and free (unlicensed) therapy sessions. In addition to your hair and lash girl, I’m also known as “Mom” to my daughter Rory. Outside of the salon you can find me spending time with her and the rest of my family, including my basset hound Teddy. I love to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle. It’s not a rare sight to find my nose stuck in a book reading or my laptop open to write. A life goal of mine is to actually write a novel (a nod to those journalism roots). Cancellation Policy
I get it that sometimes things come up and you may need to cancel. I have a 50% cancellation fee. If you are unable to make the appointment, please kindly notify me at 8125924283 or josiekshort@gmail.com 24 hours prior to appointment time to avoid the 50% cancellation fee.
